Conference Awards

Thank you to the ICSC2019 sponsors who are supporting and rewarding high quality presentations and research at this year’s conference.

Awards will be given recognising the work of authors in the following categories:

Best Oral Presentation, Proudly Sponsored by Royal Dutch Gazelle
Best Rapid Oral Presentation, Proudly Sponsored by Royal Dutch Gazelle
Best New Researcher, Proudly Sponsored by Brisbane City Council
Best Poster, Proudly Sponsored by Moon Deck

Winners of each award will receive a certificate and 1 x cash prize of AU$250.

The winners will be announced during the conference close, on Wednesday 20th November. Good luck!

Oral Presenters

Please ensure that your PowerPoint presentation is prepared in 16:9 dimensions to ensure best display on the screens in your session room. Please bring your presentation with you to the conference on a USB. We also recommend that you save a copy of your presentation in a web accessible location in case your USB becomes corrupt or lost.

Each conference session room will be equipped with a lectern, microphone, screen, projector and laptop PC (not Mac). A wide screen will be used for the presentation (16:9) and will be operated by a remote mouse. PC audio and video is available. If you are using video files, the preferred format is MP4.

Concurrent oral presenters have been allocated a 20 minute presentation time slot. A chairperson will be assigned to assist in the facilitation of your session. They will introduce you and help manage any questions from the audience. Session helpers will have time cards and a bell to help you keep within your presentation time. Please note, if you would like to invite questions from the audience, this must be done within your allocated speaking time. The session chair will politely intervene should your presentation go over this allocated time.

Rapid Oral Presenters

A rapid oral involves two elements:

  1. A short three-minute oral presentation that will be presented in quick succession alongside other rapid oral presenters. Requirement: You must prepare 1 x 16:9 sized PowerPoint slide to accompany your presentation. Click here to download a PowerPoint template in 16:9 size format. This slide will also be displayed in the exhibition room throughout the conference.
  2. An allocated time to present your work as an interactive poster at the Meet the Poster Authors function at The Cube. During this time, you will be required to stand with your poster and discuss your work with interested delegates. Delegates will be able to use The Cube’s touch screens to interact with your poster and scroll through your poster content. Requirement: 1 x poster plus up to 3 related slides (e.g. larger graphs or images relating to your poster). Please download the poster template here for more information. All posters must conform to the provided template in order to display correctly on the The Cube screens.

Both documents must be submitted to icsc2019@qut.edu.au no later than 18 October 2019.
